Workshop Overview
This workshop provides a thorough introduction to the concepts,
strategies and processes that are necessary to train students
to be mediators. The course covers the peer mediation process,
program design, implementation, and evaluation. If you are planning
to set-up a peer mediation program or train students to be peer
mediators at your school, this class is for you.
Workshop Features
- Step-by-step approach for teaching the mediation process
with sample training agendas;
- Key elements in selecting and retaining student mediators;
- Issues and strategies for coaching role-plays;
- Four mediation role-plays with feedback both as a mediator
and as a coach;
- Strategies for developing an effective school-wide program;
- Handling intake forms and interviews;
- Ideas for weekly meetings; and
- Specific ideas for evaluating the program.
Training Cost
$395 includes 3-days of training, lunches, and copies of Student
& Coordinators Mediation Manuals and Mediation Role-Plays
(participants can select from Elementary, Middle, or High School).
A 15% registration discount is available to groups of 3 or more
attending from the same school or organization.
